Dear Fond du Lac Band Member,
Fond du Lac Forestry has established a small woodlot about a mile north of the tribal center. The wood is mainly 10-12 inch diameter maple, basswood, and birch and must be cut, loaded, and hauled yourself. A 4-wheel drive vehicle is recommended to access the site which is approximately a quarter-mile off a paved road on a primitive dirt (not gravel) trail. A small turn-around area exists at the end of the trail. If you are interested please stop into the Resource Management office to obtain the required permit and a map. Fond du Lac Forestry asks that you only take what you need as wood supply is very limited this year. We also remind you that the wood is available to Band Members only, is for personal use, and must not be sold, traded, or given away. The Resource Management Office is located on the corner of Big Lake Road and University Road. The office is open Mon-Fri from 8am-4:30pm and is closed from noon-1pm for lunch. The phone number is 878-8001. In addition to the woodlot Fond du Lac Logging and Timber will home deliver firewood in 8 foot lengths. There is a 10 cord minimum.
